Welcome to the hear-it press room.

As part of the hear-it web site, we have set up a press room with information dedicated to journalists. The general hear-it web site contains information about almost any issue of hearing impairment. We have collected some of the most relevant facts from the site and added other information and aids to assist journalists who take an interest in the subject.

The press room has been established in order to increase especially European media awareness of hearing impairment. Ten per cent of the world's population have hearing problems, but only one in five who is suffering from hearing loss actually uses hearing aids.

This site is non-commercial, and does not favour any treatment, any special hearing aids or specific hearing aid manufacturers.

The web site has been established and is run by the organisation 'Hear-it AISBL', comprising IFHOH (the International Federation of the Hard Of Hearing), AEA and EHIMA (the European Hearing Industry Manufacturers Association).
